Untitled

A fall day, wrapped in darkness.
A full view, of more sky than I'm used to
Filled with more weather than at times seems possible
To roll past, stately and distant and quiet
-- a movie with most sound off.
Incongruous warmth on one side of the glass,
And visual hints of the not-so-warm some feet away
With more-than-hints of life in that air:
An occasional leaf, many stories from a tree
And updrafting birds balanced on the swirling breezes
Enveloping a tall, tall edifice.
("Building" seems too clunky and informal in contexts like this.)
Darkness seeps into some of the morning view of all this
And spreads in again at the day's other end
Curtaining the weather and clouds and rain and rainbows
That seem to wish to be, and not to mind being, seen.
