Dawn Taylor was right: Chinese food really can help the mood. 'Course, I was in a good mood last night already anyway, but the family dinner at Chan's of Dundee (in a building that used to house a used-car dealership) was an extra dollop of good-time-ness. Both of my dad's brothers Mike and Greg, Mike's wife Aunt Nancy, and Greg's wife Aunt Peg were there; they'd gotten back from vacation in Mexico (Zihuatanejo) and had pictures and memories to share. But first, food: meats and veggies Schezuan-style, one of life's simple real pleasures. Food, glorious food. You can tell I like eating, can't you? My tighter pants this year tell me this, too!
I also splurged yesterday on DVDs and music, including the Mark Knopfler-Emmylous Harris CD and, um... huh huh. Huh huh. Heh Heh. Heh heh... the first volume of Beavis and Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection on DVD. I am not proud. I loved that show. Can I meet Mike Judge sometime, please?
(Oh, and I got another DVD which shall go nameless until it arrives in the hands of the people for whom it's intended. I haven't told them yet. I am the Stealth Entertainer!)
