Good and sore

(Late lunch break, y'all:)

If I'm gonna be sore, can I at least have enjoyed what it was that made me sore? :-P

It's been an "off" morning. I'm sure my having A) coffee and B) not enough food after work last night is partly responsible for this, though I had no trouble either falling asleep or waking up (did it without the alarm, even), but I've felt a little unsettled ever since this morning. So I've been eating gentle food and giving myself gentle treatment all day.

Last night was worth it, though. I hung out with my friends Matt and Gerry, the two who are moving to Hawaii (next month, if all goes well). I brought them a DVD of Dave Chappelle's Block Party, which I correctly divined they'd wanted to see. I'm enjoying giving people gifts. I can and will do more of that. We visited for several hours (before and after one of Gerry's bellydancing gigs), and they were nice enough to drive me home, where we looked at photos before they headed back to their place.

Scary moment getting to their place earlier, though: a car-versus-motorcyclist accident happened right next to the No. 6 Bus I was riding from downtown to Northeast. I didn't see it, but I heard the thmp of the impact. The motorcyclist was knocked to the pavement. He was able to walk to the side of the road, and he declined an ambulance, so I'm guessing and hoping he's OK.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm feeling a little of the biker's soreness. THAT might explain it...
