Whoa. That was such a perfect script-reading last night that when I answered the phone, I thought the voice on the other end was pre-recorded.

I said "Good-bye," because I'm ruder to machines than people, then I heard the guy on the other end stop and say "Excuse me?" And I said "Whoa."

We talked briefly enough for me to tell him (twice) that I wasn't in the mood to be surveyed, and we ended the call. I even apologized for the "Good-bye."
