This is entry #4,961.

Soon, a little over six years from where I started, I'm going to hit 5,000 LiveJournal entries.

This makes me genuinely excited and hopeful.

Here's to blogging. It's led me to interesting thoughts and interesting people. I miss it when I don't do it. I notice when I do it less (like this week, a high-energy-use week at work, for instance). I've happily surprised myself more than once with what's come out of me while doing it. Blogging reveals much about the blogger, both to readers and to the blogger if s/he's paying attention. A lot of me is in these words, and I try to keep them interesting words.

Like Ray Bradbury looking over his room of bric-a-brac for the inspiration for his next story, I wonder: what will Entry #5,000 be about?
