I had the perfect excuse to write a journal entry IN A COMPLETELY MADE-UP-OFF-THE-TOP-OF-MY-HEAD LANGUAGE.

But I won't.

I don't need to cause THAT much confusion. Still, it amused me to think I could do an entry that was all

There's also the part of me that remembers an anecdote from Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga where one of the Star Wars sound design people -- Ben Burtt, I think -- said they'd tried creating alien languages for Star Wars but, since none of them were trained linguists, the results were basically English with the letters jumbled. They stopped trying. I'd have even less chance of creating something coherent.

Another reason I's loves my Star Trek: they went to the trouble of making Klingon an actually structured language. Thank you, Marc Okrand! (And thank you, James Doohan, for getting the ball rolling by thinking up the Klingon word for "Fire!")
