In which I disappoint people

This time, "this time" being tomorrow night, I will not be dressed up like Jeff Bridges.

Yes, it's time for the sixth annual Cinco de Lebowski, once again at the Bagdad, courtesy Cort and Fatboy, Things From Another World, Cascadia.Fm, Digital Trends, and the Portland Mercury. Before the movie there will be live bands, and the general hanging-out-with-The Big Lebowski fans.

I will not have facial hair. I will not be in a robe. Maybe I'll slouch and let my gut hang out, but doing the full Lebowski? I'm not feeling it this time. I'm still undecided whether I'm going to attend the actual film. Hanging out beforehand, yes, I want to see costumes -- will we top last year's guy who came in an iron lung? -- but maybe it's time not to worry about The Streak.

Yes, there's a streak now. I've gone to each Cort and Fatboy Midnight Movie since October 2007. (By the way, my night shirt, what I'm wearing right now, is the Rock Band T-shirt I got as a freebie that first time.) I came close to breaking the streak last December, but rallied (and stayed as far from people as possible for much of it). I'm so glad I was able to see that, but I bailed early from that screening which was a good idea, and it's not as if the world would stop if I miss a Midnight Movie.

Maybe it's time to let someone else try to beat the streak. I've attended 41 of these in a row. Good luck. *grins*

(No, no, no, Chris, don't attend the film just because it'd be Midnight Movie #42, with the geek symmetry that that number bestows. Besides, you've already hit the "37 in a row?" milestone...)
