There MUST be a Zod lookalike in Portland.

It's not too early to pimp the poster for the next Cort and Fatboy Midnight Movie:

(So are the supervillains on the deck of the U.S.S. Cygnus?)

This is unusual for a Midnight Movie: the movie is famous and geek-friendly (it's many geeks' vote for best live-action Superman ever), but the version Cort and Bobby will get to screen a) hasn't been seen by too many and b) still has a significant reputation of its own, separate from the film that was released in 1980. Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner was fired from Superman II, and the film was finished, and in many places re-shot, by director Richard Lester (the maker of A Hard Day's Night, Help!, and the Seventies Three Musketeers); this version was Donner's attempt a few years ago to redo the film (a new edit, scenes restored, some special effects finished) to be closer to what he would have done. It's not completely different, it's still the same basic story, but left-of-center from the theatrical version in so many details. It's a unique artifact, an almost-finished movie, that also has some of the most purely over-the-top comic book visuals EVER shot for a film.

So, on June 3rd, I'll see Superman II on the big screen, I think for my first time ever.
