At lunch I burned a few spots on my left hand while cooking, the first time I've hurt myself cooking in years. Um, I guess it's good I don't hurt myself often, right? But I'm not in practice treating myself, and I made a few mistakes, like ice on the hurt first, until I looked at The Mayo Clinic's "how to treat a minor burn" page, and it said "no, dumbass, run the wound under cool water." (I may be paraphrasing.)
Gee, maybe I should get professional cook training, so I can get paid to get burned, right?
ANYWAY, I finished cooking stuff other than myself, because I still needed to eat. To keep me from hurting myself (and others) I stayed cocooned the rest of the day, watching multiple first-season episodes of Archer while drinking water and eating some M&Ms. Comfort time! May sleep be healing.
