Wind

The air outside wants to move. OK, sorry, that's anthropomorphizing of me: the air has to move, thanks to pressure pressing on the air and the air reacting as wind. We've reached fall, and are getting more changeable weather: heavy rain on and off this week, higher winds (enough to knock out or brown-out power in the Portland area so far today), more variable temps. No real cold yet, but just enough cool air for the weather to seem to say You ready for real cold? This is making me glad I don't have to deal with, say, Midwest winters, which are more You ready for the very air to slap you?

Huh. I keep anthropomorphizing the weather. I'm sure that's been done in a children's book.
