Grit cakes!

Treat this late morning: walking to Genie's, a breakfast/lunch place north of my neighborhood, and having Andouille-sausage-and-cheddar grit cakes. I'm glad I saved up an appetite for them. (I also had scrambled eggs and a nicely creamy hot chocolate.) I walked a longer route home, 30-plus blocks versus the about 15 blocks from home to Genie's when I go there most directly. That was so I could read more (I'm halfway through Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book the Thirteenth: The End), and also so I could work off more of those grit cakes.

Mmm. To quote Gir, "I like food."
