Trekkie pride, and Trekkie hope

I've been happily cognizant of Star Trek at its 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, and now 50th anniversaries.

It's a world — on film, on television and in books and comics and more — that's been a constant reminder: I can always be a better person. We can always be better people.

This captain is one of many who knew that.
