I wish some Infocom programmer in the 1980s had done a text adventure game based on Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime":

A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

You are in a house. In the room is a beautiful wife. Through the window, you see a large automobile.

> how did i get here

You'll have to ask yourself.

Other locations in the game could include a shotgun shack, another part of the world, and the bottom of the ocean.

I know someone at Infocom liked that song: it's quoted in the wonderful mid-80s text game Trinity.

10:47 p.m. edit: I'd first posted this to Facebook; my friend Kirk, who I met at college, replied "It could be based on the Talking Heads' entire body of work." He wrote

> look

There was a factory here. Now there are mountains and rivers.

> look

You see a rattlesnake slithering through the field.

> catch rattlesnake

Now you have something for dinner.

> look

Someone is approaching you.

> start a conversation

You can't even finish it. You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything.

> run run run run run run run away

You run, but you're not fast enough. The psycho killer kills you.

> look

You are in Heaven.

> look

There is nothing else to see here. Nothing ever happens here.
