Maintenance on the Portland Aerial Tram

Each February, the Portland Aerial Tram closes for about a week, for line maintenance. Part of the work requires the repair crew to set up a series of hanging platforms, laid out like steps, on the lower part of the line near the South Waterfront's Tram terminal. The platforms are translucent and striking, and higher than I personally would want to be. But, it's a striking sight.

Today I walked over the Ross Island Bridge over to the lower terminal, because for years I've wanted to get pictures and today was a good day to look. Here they are.
