Whale fluke

Life stuff: Last Monday I had my monthly lunch with one of my supervisors, Audrey. She had good news for me: got that news, in fact, during the lunch. I’ll fill y’all in about it in a few days.

The next day I had my first meeting with a man named Ladd, who handles financial business for several members of my family. More to the point, he was the financial advisor for my Walsh grandparents, Irv and Jean, who left behind money for us to invest, and I learned more about my portion. I actually have something worth investing. This blows my mind, but I’ll deal with it. It’s a good mind-blower.

This was a weekend of errands: a big grocery-shopping, stock-up trip yesterday, and purchasing of phone-card minutes and bus pass today. And phone calls: my now-married friend Michol, my Aunt Nancy Walsh (who once ran into my other Aunt Nancy, Nancy Weare, totally by accident in the Pony Express Museum in St. Joseph, Missouri – really, they were on cross-country trips going in opposite directions and they just happened to be in the same place at the same time!), and my folks, to give them the good news I can’t give you yet.

Yes, the good news is accumulating. Live with the suspense. I’ll tell you when I can.
