Whale fluke

Matt and Gerry are fine in Hawaii

Good news via e-mail: Matt and Gerry rode through the Hawaii earthquake just fine. Matt just e-mailed me to say
Hey Chris,
We are fine, but it was quite a ride for a while! It was the biggest earthquake I have ever experienced.
I'm glad I don't have to worry about them.

I've actually felt only one earthquake in my life (Southern California, as I'm sure you're not surprised, and it was a small one compared to Hawaii's); and I inadvertantly rode out the last two earthquakes here in the Northwest. I was riding a bus when the February 2001 one hit, and never noticed it; I was in Olympia sleeping right through the Spring Break Quake of 1993, which was felt (by awake people) as far north as Seattle...

Srsly, d00d:

The lovely and talented zarhooie, who is good with her hands, was kind enough to create for me a gmail account tonight! She and I had a conversation-on-the-phone (so she finally got to hear what I sound like; hey, Kat! What do I sound like?) and she multitasked while doing so.

I, um, can't log onto it yet, so I won't give you the address yet. It's close to what's above in the title, sort of.

Thanks, Kat, for the phone chat. I'm glad we had a chance to visit. I knew our talk would be good when one of the first things she said was "I was raised by zombies!" (Seriously, that has to be the first line of a story sometime. Do it!)
