Whale fluke

The obligatory it's-OK-to-skip-it-if-you-don't-follow-football post

OK, another question:

I still can't find out why USC ran down the clock the way it did last night at game's end. I'm still going "Huh?" "Simply, deflatingly giving up against UCLA" doesn't sound like it'd explain it. Not even the L.A. Times article today mentioned it. Now the coverage is all about "What does that mean to the BCS computers?" Hey, they're computers: it means 10110011010100001101010101 or something.

OK. That is quite possibly the single most random comment I've ever put in my blog.

Moving on: I feel good about the victories of the Beavers (against Hawaii, both the team and the weather) last night and the Saints (THAT long to get a first down? I didn't think it'd be a high-scoring game after that...) today. Glad I didn't watch the Redskins snatch defeat from the jaws of victory; oh, well. Now I'm cleaning while waiting for the Seattle-Denver game in three hours.

And hey, philly420pdx: Eagles tomorrow, Monday Night Football, 5:30 my time, which means 3:30 your time. You gonna be able to watch?
