Blow My Mind

Sick crankiness

Gyagh. My sore throat got worse overnight, and I woke up

*above sentence interrupted by coughing fit*

Okay, Chris, start again: I'm still sick. At least I'm not nauseous or feverish (I'm 97.8 actually), but I've been bolt-awake for over an hour now, and I woke up feeling worse in my throat than I did when going to bed last night. I've already done today's first gargle, to mitigate the ache a bit.

I'd like to run errands today, which (if I do them) I'll keep as wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am quick as possible -- I want to get to the bank (a branch with Saturday hours, of course), plus I need basic groceries -- but first I need to wait several hours and see if my body will cooperate.

GET HEALTHY, okay, Chris?

In the meantime, I'm cranky. If you guys could say or e-mail me stuff to make me un-cranky, I'd really appreciate it.

Me 1

I've gotten the wacky bug!

You know that scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom after Indy's drank the mind-altering potion and he's jerking around in the fetal position, knocking over candles and shivering and trying not to scream? I'm not like that. No need to send Short Round to slap me!

Today will be another day of taking it easy, because I haven't yet shaken whatever bug got me. Earlier this morning I came to my senses and thought Dude, errands can fucking WAIT. I've had good blankets wrapped around me, and good fluid in me. I'll recover. Soon.

Meanwhile, I'm still in the state where this is hilarious: "You can't spell FLAMINGOES without FLAMING!"

Post-Apocalyptic Hello Kitty, c/o Caitlin

I just made a purchase:

Stiff Kitten

It's a T-shirt for a band that doesn't exist, except in Caitlin R. Kiernan's novel Silk. Not only is the shirt on sale through Monday, but the commission Ziraxia (the t-shirt company) pays to Caitlin is higher than normal, too, and so I get to support someone I like supporting.

I think I'll pass it along to Alicia as a sleeping shirt.
