Film score goodness
Film Score Monthly reports worthy film-music stuff in its Friday news roundup:
* La-La Land Records (the label that's released a lot of Bear McCreary's work, like the upcoming score from The Sarah Connor Chronicles) is putting out what I think's the first release ever of music from Batman: The Animated Series, composed and supervised by the late, great Shirley Walker. The label will also put out Mark Snow's work on Millennium.
* The Grammys have nominated the film scores The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wall-E, Iron Man (the one "huh?" response from me; I didn't think it was that distinguished) and -- finally eligible for something -- Jonny Greenwood's stark, sawing-on-your-consciousness music that was used in There Will Be Blood. (More film music nominations at the news link.)
Edited To Add: Any of you fans of James Dooley's music for Pushing Daisies? It's coming out, too, on Dec. 23.
