Upcoming: Can't Stop the Serenity 2009

I didn't miss it: Portland's Can't Stop the Serenity charity screening of Joss Whedon's Serenity happens Saturday, June 27th.

From PDX Browncoats Dot Com:
PDX Browncoats Presents the 4th Annual Charity Benefit of Serenity at Cinema 21.

PDX Browncoats, a local nonprofit group comprised of fans of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, are gearing up for their 4th annual Can’t Stop the Serenity event screening of the movie Serenity to benefit Equality Now.

...For our 4th annual screening, we are excited to be returning to Cinema 21. This year, we will hold two screenings. The first screening will be open to all ages. Doors open at 3PM. We are very excited to announce that Portland’s second screening will be the first ever Special Hell showing of Serenity. Have you ever wanted to shout your favorite lines at the screen? Tell the actors to watch out? Warn Wash before that crucial moment when he meets his fate? This is your chance! The Special Hell screening allows us, the fans, to poke a little fun at our favorite Joss Whedon film. And who better to make fun of it than those who love it most? Doors for the second show will open at 10:30 PM. Cinema 21 now serves beer and wine, so the late show will be 21 and older.
Also happening (with the help of the Gypsy, the bar across the street): a quiz, a costume contest, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Karaoke.

Tickets to the 3 p.m. all-ages show are $10. Tickets to the 10:30 p.m. "Special Hell" show are $12.

Happy happy news to share!

My friend Tarah's now a mom!

The girl Tarah's added to the world: First name Victoria, middle name Genevieve. 19 1/4 inches long. 6 pounds 15 ounces. According to her father, "looks terrific in a tiny pink cap."

My response was giddy and undignified.

Happy birthday, little girl.
