Blow My Mind

A high-budget dream

Dreamt I was in the 2001: A Space Odyssey space station watching footage from 2001: A Space Odyssey (meta much?) and the film had additional subliminal flashing footage of, presumably, aliens, if only I paid enough attention...

It was the 10th anniversary of the most satisfying Chinese food meal I've ever had

It was yesterday, Dec. 27th, because on Dec. 27th, 1999, my Grandma Jean celebrated a birthday and a very large chunk of the Walsh family gathered at Wu's Open Kitchen in Tigard. We were there for a LONG time. And I staggered my eating schedule: I ate some, waited, visited more with family, ate some more, waited some more, visited with family more. The stereotypical thing is that you're hungry again an hour after eating Chinese food, so I wanted to LOAD LIKE WHOA with food to avoid that, and it worked.

It was a really good dinner. With really good people. (Yes! I can say that about my family!)

"Noodle": silly word, tasty food. Yes/No?

I have noodles on the brain. (Noodles on the noodle!) Had some for dinner. Find noodles to be a satisfying thing to eat. Also I can imagine I'm eating tentacles, and have vanquished the kraken or Cthulhu or whatever. (Not squid or octopi, though: they're smart and nice.) It brought me hope to see the teriyaki place near my apartment is now selling pho (pronounced "Fuh"), because beef noodle soup combines the satisfaction of noodles AND the satisfaction of beef (AND the satisfaction of broth) in a more-convenient-to-me location! I shall partake sometime soon. Mmm. Noodles.

(...yes, I'm going to bed soon.)

Thought for the night

"I'm wearing nothing but static" really isn't a very sexy sentence, is it?

(I'm not, by the way. Wearing nothing but static*. I'm surrounded by static-y clothes, though.)

* Trivia! Marilyn Monroe was once asked what she wore to bed. She replied "Chanel No. 5."
