Picturesque haze has "iced," so to speak, Portland this afternoon. It's thickened to fog that's made some of us make The Mist
references ("There's something in the mist! It took John Lee!" Which one can sing to the tune of Nirvana's unplugged version of "Something in the Way") and one of my Twitter followers say
Heavy fog. A man trundles by on a recumbent quadricycle. Portland.
which someone then haikuified:
Man in heavy fog. Recumbent quadricycle. We are in Portland.
Me, I'm leaning back. Not quite a Buckley lean
, let alone a gangsta lean, but leaning back and getting comfortable.
Strange, up-and-down-but-ultimately-up week at work. My department's scrambling to get proposals done, plus work on presentations for our company's annual meeting in just over a week. We're up three more people than normal to get stuff done, in fact. And I was getting stuff done, too! (Sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm getting all that much done. Thank goodness I was indeed getting things accomplished!) But the week took a fair amount out of me, and a lot of people I know, so: take it easy, when you can, ya hear?
