1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up.
Receipts I need to put away, a Sin City
ashtray, this computer monitor (which, by my standards, is HUGE), my bedside lamp, the outside as seen through one window with the blinds up.2. How do you style your hair?
It styles itself. It waves. I got it cut yesterday, and asked for it to be short but still long enough for some wave. Before the cut, it didn't wave, it poofed
. It also waved way too much. I mean it was spastic.3. What are you wearing now?
My work clothes, sans
hard shoes. Dockers, short-sleeved light blue shirt, glasses, socks, and underwear. Just one pair.4. What's your occupation?
Office assistant, with a side of proofreading when my company does proposals.5. Name a favorite something (flower, rock, food, film, song, etc.) that you think no one knows?
Favorite wrestler: Mick Foley. Good performer, genuinely good person. I've also liked his writing: I've read his two autobiographies Have A Nice Day
and Foley Is Good (and the Real World Is Faker Than Wrestling)
, and his first novel Tietam Brown
The preceding means that yes, I do watch some wrestling.
(I also have a soft spot for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.)6. Who was the last person you hugged?
One of my fellow contestants at Geek Trivia last Tuesday. Before that, Alicia, who I saw two Saturdays ago.7. What is/was for dinner?
Something I've already bought that's in my fridge/ freezer/ pantry/ extra drawer of food. Something. (I was having a craving earlier for Taco Bell, but I resisted leaving to go to one.)8. What did you do today?
Worked the first half of the day, used a computer at the library (listened to The Cort and Fatboy Show
), walked around downtown Portland and across the Morrison Bridge (which has a wider sidewalk than it used to and better protections against cars, which is good; it scared
me before) and then a bit of SE Portland before riding a bus home. Since then, I've been listening to music (Kate Bush followed by Johnny Cash) and reading online.9. Favorite cupcake flavour?
Hmm. Don't know. I must test this... *eats all the cupcakes*10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
No need. I like my name, it fits me, I don't plan on transitioning so that I'd need to be known as Christina... I know people who had problems with their name, like a cousin of mine who only goes by her given name with some (not all) family members; I don't have that issue. Chris Walsh just works
.11. What was the last item that you bought (that wasn't food)?
Uh, shampoo?12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Many of the places I have family and friends. That includes the Boston area, New York City, upstate New York, Mississippi, New Orleans, Northern Virginia, Hawaii, Denmark, Guam, and more. I want to visit people.
More immediately, I want to go somewhere I can swim in a warm ocean.
More stereotypically, I should get to Britain and Ireland one of these days. I've enjoyed enough British and Irish culture that I should see it in person!13. Favorite type of music?
Music that feels
. Which reminds me: I need to try opera.14. Favourite novel?
I'll always have a soft spot for 2010: Odyssey Two
by Arthur C. Clarke. I read that at age 9, and have re-read it several times.15. Your favorite pair of pajamas?
Long have I kept it simple: T-shirt and sweatpants.16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
AIR GUITAR!!!!!!17. Who do you want to bitchslap the most?
Charlie Murphy. No antipathy for the guy, but I already know he can take it for comedy
.18. If you could read a loved one's mind for 24 hours, would you?
No. That's asking for trouble, and even the most open-minded person would probably get sick of it really
quickly.19. What are you looking forward to the most?
