This Thing Is Still On

Lately, however, has been a good time for quiet. At least here.

Not quiet in person. I was at a signing Saturday night by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, which the Portland Things From Another World hosted for many, many people. (I met Mignola briefly and admitted I've only read a two-page Hellboy story so far -- the two-page quick one called "Pancakes" -- but that I'd get around to reading lots more.) I soaked in good geek vibes after what had been an exhausting week, physically and emotionally. (Saturday morning, I stayed in bed reading or resting until noon. I almost never do that.)

This morning I was not-quiet again, meeting my friends Mary-Suzanne and David Lamkins for breakfast: they don't mind when I babble. I liked taking advantage of having a day off today (I'll be at work tomorrow -- yay earned money!) to have diner food. Some of which is now in my fridge, because big portions of good food, yo. Waste not, when possible.

Were I not-quiet on the blog right now, though, you'd be hearing thoughts about how unbearable the Eric Carman song "All By Myself" would've been if Jim Steinman had written it. Excuse me, overwritten it. (And I say that as someone who likes Jim Steinman.) Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I hope to say stuff more in-depth than that when I regularly blog again. Goals!

Stay safe and hug loved ones, y'all. (Also, randomly, I say "y'all" a lot more often. Useful term.)
