Whale fluke

The Do-Nothing Party (everyone's invited!)

"Lump sat alone in a boggy marsh," sang The Presidents of the United States of America, "totally motionless except for her heart..."

I wasn't THAT Lump, but yesterday I was A lump. Mea culpa.

In the words of that 1980s Metallica T-shirt, "Honesty is my only excuse." The thing is, it was only in the morning that I had a reason to BE a lump, due to feeling a little queasy, but my body had gotten over that by midday. And all I did for most of yesterday was lie down, read not-especially-in-depth online stuff, and play Angry Birds. I did dishes after I ate, and in the evening I went for a walk, but that was more or less it.

SO MUCH ELSE I COULD HAVE DONE. Be useful to me, be useful to my housemates, do potentially interesting work -- but I lumped. (I'm still too lazy to even find the right verb.)

By default, I'll be more productive today: there's work and, likely, laundry. Meanwhile, I try to stay honest, here on the blog and elsewhere in my interactions with the world. And sometimes the honest thing is to say "I did nothing."
