Wearily and warily they try to clarify
What they denounce, contrasted with what they can justify;
How to react, what gets a pass, what makes them then let fly,
Deciding what is not and what is worth the hue and cry:
This exhausting constant-job, because they must defy
Those also-loud dissemblers who do not edify
But dump dishonest thoughts that match the weight of Mt. Sinai;
So wearily and warily, they try to rectify.
