Friday and Saturday, in convenient blog form

Still trying to be clever. Might even be succeeding!

I got long walks done today. Felt good and I got to errands.

Reading continues: yesterday I finished The Talented Mr. Ripley, the 1955 novel by Patricia Highsmith. I do want to read more by her (this was her first book that I've read), but it's such a strong portrayal of, um, a SOCIOPATH that I feel like avoiding more Ripley novels for now. (Smartly, while I finished reading I also listened to the album Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos, about as far from being a sociopath as you can be...

Now the books are an electronic copy of Stephen King's The Library Policeman (from his collection Four Past Midnight), and a physical copy of Caitlín R. Kiernan's science fiction novella Black Helicopters. I have in fact read from my tablet while walking, but I know that's a bad idea, and I'm lucky I haven't taken a spill while doing that. I like having a physical book to read while walking...

Back to yesterday. My errands that day were taking my car to air quality testing at the DEQ (it passed!), then going to the DMV and getting my license plate renewed for the next two years. Then stopping at Tik Tok on SE 82nd because I could treat myself to a steak so rare it was purplish.

My tongue is slowly healing. I can eat without hurting myself. Mostly.
