Random Thoughts Before the Beer Kicks In

New Year's Day was also a stay-inside-at-home day for me. I slept in later than normal. I'd considered going grocery shopping that day but realized I could do another errand if I went shopping today instead. Highlights of Friday included starting a quick re-read of bits of Dune Messiah, and being really impressed with the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That film is packed, with ideas, many wonderful visuals, and emotions. I'd heard very good things about the film, and it was so good to see them all confirmed

(And one Spider-Verse character looks like someone I'm acquainted with, at least how they may look in the future.)

Today, after another easy start (finishing the Dune Messiah re-read, playing some Angry Birds, and low-impact stuff like that), I went driving: dropping off the book at the library, another visit to Beulahland to stock up on beer (notice the subject? That's foreshadowing), then very strategic grocery shopping. I had a $100 Fred Meyer gift card; I also had a coupon for $10 off an order of $100 or more. After all my other coupons, I'd gotten up to a $106 (and change) grocery bill, which that last coupon knocked down to $96 (and change). I didn't have to get out another method of payment!

Dinner, once I got home, was a store sushi sampler tray. I've missed sushi, and this isn't gourmet sushi obviously but it will serve.

Updatery, done!
