A quick poem today

I gave myself a small goal: get a poem written in a day, not in a few days or a couple of weeks. Here it is.

Match, Struck
by Christopher Walsh, 5/9/2021

Flame:
A way to fold the air
To pull the oxygen to heat
To sculpt a fleeting piece of glare
Which wavers, snuffs: wood, obsolete.
The shape it took, the purest stealth:
A flame can only form itself.
