"The Lie You're Allowed"

The Lie You're Allowed
by Christopher Walsh, 5/26/2021-5/29/2021

Sure, fine, say whatever
Don't think through what you spout
Speak like you have super-power:
No one's gonna call you out
Be self-serving, be unhelpful
Throw some others under some bus
Enough will take your words as gospel
You'll ensure what they discuss
Plenty of them will go "I knew it"
As they really wanted to go
They just hoped to reinforce
What they decided long ago
Lessen lessons, add to noise
You're intellectual silly string
Distract the discourse: work us up
Until we're mad about the wrong thing
