Not the dream I'd wanted

OK, I really don’t know where that came from…

An epic and somewhat disturbing dream last night. It seems a member of my family had been taken from us – OK, maybe I know where that thought came from – and I had to try and get that person back, going through first a partially demolished house (which seemed a cross between my Grandpa Bob and Grandma Dorothy’s longtime NE Portland home and my parents’ current Dundee home) and then a version of Portland Old Town that was (incongruously) snowed in. Street preachers stood in the street with traffic seeming to aim right for them yet not hitting them. My only allies were a friendly family that ran a Chinese restaurant and, then, other people waiting in an office anteroom; these people also seemed to have lost someone, or something, And I was trying to formulate a plan to get the lost one back, and drawing a blank. More thinking, still no idea, and I was in that frustrating limbo when I awoke.
