A blatant plea for tech assistance

Hi. Help.

Here's where I rue my lack of computer knowledge: My home computer e-mail account is not working right. What's weird is, it won't send e-mail -- my last sent e-mail was Wednesday -- but it can receive. Also I can still go on-line, leave LJ comments, and update here, but something's hobbled. Downloading also is slower than normal.

I figure, maybe someone can give me guidance as I fiddle with this. The message I get when I try to send is:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'MSN Mail', Server: 'smtp.email.msn.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Any tips? E-mail me at splunge2000 (at) msn (dot) com -- again, I can read it.

I have more to update, but it can wait. Sorry this isn't too exciting.
