Ah, the specialness of comfort food

My friend zarhooie has asked (nicely; she's nice) for recipes for people's favorite comfort foods. You want to read and contribute. Yes, you do.

I'm better at letting other people make comfort food for me. I've said it before, I'll say it now: truck stop food is a very special kind of comfort food. To this day, my favorite clam chowder was served at the T&R truck stop right off I-5 in Albany, Oregon. It's gone now, but it was around for decades; Mom and Dad would stop there when they were both University of Oregon students in the '60s, as I'd be in the '90s, and were traveling between Portland and Eugene.
