Reason for grinning: the Special Guest who went unidentified in the buildup to tonight's KINK Live 8 concert in P.C. Square was my song siren of choice, Tori Amos. I didn't come anywhere near guessing her -- I figured the special guest would be Jason Mraz, who's also well-liked at KINK-FM -- but once I knew who would be performing, I hustled over to the nearest pharmacy and bought a one-use camera. And there was much rejoicing (h'ray...), plus, I hope, a couple of decent shots. 'tis the closest I've ever gotten to the lovely Ms. Amos.
Nicely done, radio people! It was icing on the cake, lagniappe (thank you, Harlan Ellison, for ensuring I can spell that), a goody. It was a nice concert, all around, and I bought the KINK Live 8 CD, continuing my full collection. Hey, this CD series is the reason I learned about S.M.A.R.T., the school reading program I've volunteered for, and it does good work. Plus the station people had enough style to make the CD look like a 45 rpm single, complete with a black disc.
OK. I'm tired and I'm rambling. Rest, now...
