It makes me grin, is what I mean. (You can pronounce grin “green” to make that rhyme!)
Other grin-worthy stuff lately:
* Yesterday, feeling a li’l arty, I took black-and-white pictures at Portland Saturday Market (yes, for the Portland-impaired, Saturday Market’s open Sundays) during a brisk and lovely day. I found a few small gifts plus I enjoyed a lentil-stuffed pastry called (if I remember correctly) a sambosa. Small but satisfying. Kind of like my last girlfriend. ;-)
* And after the Market, I returned to Our Children’s Store and bought, um, a larger gift. For someone. He said cryptically. (I don’t mean me!)
* Work today was productive. And when one weird-ass thing came up in my research (I must be vague; sorry), I asked my OHSU supervisor and she agreed that yeah, it was weird-ass but it could be explained, so I didn’t feel nuts or that I was missing something.
* Plus when I returned home tonight, not only had the mail brought Ms. Kiernan’s book and a small dividend from my auto insurer (hey, more money!), it also had brought the Christmas letter from the guy I’ve been friends with the longest in my life, Ken Crandall. And when I say long, I mean we got to know each other 24 years ago. And we’re in our early 30s. He and his wife Michelle live in suburban San Francisco with a one-and-a-half-year-old boy who keeps them on their toes.
A pile-up of goodness, I tells ya!
