Geeks Like The Purty

Beauty is not a guilty pleasure. I will say that for me, the annual People Magazine "100 Most Beautiful" issue is a guilty pleasure, one I've indulged on and off for years; I indulged it again and bought this year's issue.

And the list (despite opening with Kate Hudson, who is starting to look evermore plastic to me) has a decent number of geek crushes: Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars); Zoe Saldana (the first Pirates of the Caribbean and Uhura in next year's Star Trek); Elizabeth Banks (all sorts of stuff from Seabiscuit to Spider-Man to Kevin Smith's upcoming Zack and Miri Make A Porno); Kate Beckinsale; comedian Sarah Silverman; Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies); Tina Fey; Rachael Ray; and (woo hoo) Firefly and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks.

So. More geek crushes. Maybe we're moving towards having genuine geeks on future Most Beautiful lists...
