Those I know near D.C. are fine

Good news: I've heard from my family and friends in the D.C. area, where the big storms were, and they're fine. There was no damage near my brother's family's place in Chantilly.

I only posted my "be OK" message last night because I felt weird about posting anything else; any other subjects seemed a little trivial, and I felt like I'd be tempting the Fates were I to post such; I didn't want to wake up to the news OH MY GOD THE STORM PICKED UP THE ENTIRE TOWN OF VIENNA AND DROPPED IT ON THE TOWN OF RESTON OH MY GOD or anything overdramatic like that.

But I've talked to my sister-in-law Cindy, and she and her family did just fine. (She was on Capitol Hill during the tornado watch, and was delayed in getting home on the Metrorail Orange Line because a tree had fallen on the tracks.) I do know one friend lost a couple of trees, and another acquaintance actually saw a tornado form. Yeef. Something I hope never to see...

I'm glad you all are OK.
