The Life of Leonard Rosenman, Part Four

More thoughtful thoughts from composer Leonard Rosenman about life and music, including some self-deprecation:
How could I take [Marcus Welby, M.D.] lightly when I'm such a hypochondriac? I have developed symptoms, or thought I have, for everything that the doctor's patients ever had. It's a miracle I'm not a total wreck by now.
He also discusses working for Stanley Kubrick on Barry Lyndon ("We kind of liked each other, but we won't work with each other again") and the complicated situation of scoring September 30th, 1955, a semi-autobiographical film influenced by the life and death of Rosenman's friend James Dean.
