The Unbearable Cuteness of Field

We could create someone as cute as Sally Field is in Smokey and the Bandit.

Just cross Maggie Gyllenhaal with Rachael Ray.

(There. At least one friend of mine read that and achieved orgasm.)

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the allure of Maggie Gyllenhaal...I mean, to each their own, I don't judge what floats anyone's boat, but personally, Maggie does absolutely nothing for me.

On the other hand, she was a much better Rachel in The Dark Knight than Katie Holmes...of course, a 2x4 would've been more emotive than Mrs. Tom Cruise!

Trust me, you weren't the friend I was referring to. ;-)

girlyengine, who (like us) likes the ladies, said at Pi-Con that she thought Maggie wasn't -- I think she used the word "pneumatic" -- "pneumatic enough" for a comic-book movie. So Maggie didn't do as much for her, either. The trick is finding someone who can fit both comic-book reality and "real" reality, a line The Dark Knight straddles. We thought maybe Catherine Keener would've worked as Rachel Dawes. We definitely agreed that the character should've been cast better in the first place. (Had Holmes still been in The Dark Knight, people would've been cheering for her to blow up!)

I definitely "get" Maggie Gyllenhaal. Understand, some of my crushes have included Regina Spektor and Ani DiFranco, so I'm not always "standard" in my lust.

I've had some odd crushes myself, so I can't bust on people for that...actually I don't anyway...I try not to judge! I think Regina and Ani were two of mine, too!

I'll ask: who's really "floated your boat" but made other people say "Her? I don't get it"?

*uses an icon of someone who actually rode a floating, well flying, boat*

Good question...

Jeneane Garofalo - I really think she's cute, except for her over-the-top cynicism (and that's saying something coming from Mr. Cynical here).

Hilary Swank - Odd for me mainly because she has masculine features.

Franka Potente - She has amazing eyes.

Helena Bonham Carter - If you think about it, she's odd looking, but in a good way.

JO Dee Messina - I thought she was cute, but I don't like much country music and then I found out she's an "uber Christian"...which pretty much kills the point of being attracted to her!

Jessica Simpson - Why? Because I almost NEVER date blondes (that's a circumstance, not a conscious choice), can't stand bubbly/ditzy personalities and as I like to say, she's attractive up until she opens her mouth to talk. She's arguably the one "hot"/all American looking type that is totally counter to what I usually am attracted to.

Oh, as for Rachael Ray...I just wonder if she's as hyper about EVERYTHING she does as she is on her shows!

Let that tickle your imagination!

*insert "talking with her hands" reference here*

You have to love a woman who's good with her hands...
