You think if John Belushi hadn't died in 1982, he would've been in Ghostbusters?
More generally, now that I think about it: what sort of dramatic chops would he have started to show? Would he have had more of a range than he'd gotten to demonstrate before? Would he have settled into comfortable comedy-making later in life? What would the balance of his career have been?
In fact, thinking that led me to Google "John Belushi Ghostbusters" ...and I got these results. Apparently I'm not the only one who's wondered that.
Now I'm flashing on that short film shot for Saturday Night Live of an old John Belushi visiting a cemetary where every other member of the original cast is buried, darkly saying "They all said I'd be the first to go..."
