Portland draws people like this:

As profiled in the Feb. 1st Oregonian: Man leaves high-powered New York City job, moves to Portland, decides to create something, and invents Beer Chips.

I bought a bag. I've been eating some. They're good, and they indeed have the tang of beer. Pretty simple ingredient list, too (quoted from the bag):
Potatoes, sunflowr oil and/or corn oil, sugar, malodextrin, BEER (malted barley, corn syrup, hops, yeast), salt, honey (cane syrup, honey), yeast extract.
Beer Chips. I love this town.
