Repeated sounds are fun.

I know a couple named Bobby and Bobbie. He's Bobby R., she's Bobbie W.

My mom's name? Bobbi. (Also Bobbi W., but that's confusing.)

I was SO HOPING that when Mom and I had lunch at Nicholas's last month that they'd show up (Bobby had told me that he and she were planning to go there sometime). Because if they had, I could've introduced them all thusly: "Bobby, Bobbie? Bobbi. Bobbi? Bobby, Bobbie."

It would've been like a really minimalist "Uma, Oprah."

(I still remember Peter David's comment that Letterman should've taken it further: introduce them to Emma Thompson ("Uma, Oprah: Emma; Emma: Oprah, Uma"), then introduce them to Yma Sumac ("Uma, Emma, Oprah, Yma; Yma, Oprah, Emma, Uma"), then bring out the Three Tenors ("Oprah? Opera.").)
